"John Marriotti in his gripping book, THE CHINESE CONSPIRACY, shifts the world's attention from weapons of mass destruction---viruses, spyware and other malware. While "cyber-terror" arguable is more humane than lethal weaponry, its ultimate effect of advanced civilizations is almost as crippling.
Within the background of a global internet, vulnerable to viruses---for which there is no known antidote, Marriotti spins a fascinating "cyber-thriller" in which a rogue Chinese Minister of Informations launches a short-lived cyber attack across the "fruited plain" to demonstrate his ability to shut down all computer networks---even the most secure government-operated ones.
For the technologically challenged this book is happily not all "cyber-jabber." Martini creates a fast-paced, highly entertaining plot within a plot in which a small west Virginia town is nearly bankrupted by the Chinese "cyber-thieves" and their partners-in-crime, corrupt U.S. politicians. Only the heroics of a returning native son save the town while simulataneously salvaging a long lost romance."
